Description

The most famous western food is now plant based and in the Philippines! Who can resist a delicious, juicy burger patty with fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, grated carrot, beetroot and sauce/mayo on a lightly toasted sesame bun! To many, this is considered the perfect meal, all between two pieces of bread. Unfortunately the vast majority of burgers sold in the takeaways are made from the poorest quality meat – usually parts that are not suitable for eating – very fatty, highly processed, high in cholesterol, high in sodium, high in saturated fats, and fried in large amounts of poor quality oil. There is often limited vegetables, which are replaced with unhealthy toppings such as cheese, fried bacon and even additional patties. Consuming these types of meals can increase the risk of heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure and obesity, especially when served with deep fried potato chips and high sugar/corn syrup sodas. Thanks God we have a healthy alternative! With Ve-G-Burger you can control the amount of fat and sodium, add all the healthy veges you want, and eat a super delicious burger without having to be concerned about the diseases and health risks that are associated with health destroying processed meat. Get the best meal of the western world that will be a nutritious family favourite every week! Ve-G-Burger can also be used as a mince substitute for a huge variety of alternative and healthy meals!

Ve-G-Burger Patties Recipe:

1 can Ve-G-Burger

1 small onion, diced

2-4 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped fine

2 T coconut oil

2 T tomato sauce

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp mushroom powder

2 T cornstarch or tapioca flour

(optional) 1/2 tsp of each of Basil, Oregano, Paprika, Cumin

1/2 cup white flour

Put all ingredients except the white flour into a mixing bowl and mix well. Add 1/4 cup of flour and mix in with hands, then add additional flour gradually until mixture is no longer wet and sticky. Mix just enough to distribute the flour throughout. Less flour will give a more meaty taste, but a softer, wetter texture and take longer to cook. More flour will make a firmer more meaty texture, but have a less meaty taste, but take a shorter time to cook. After the mixture has reached desired consistency, wet hands with water and form into balls and then squash between hands into patties. Continue to wet hands between patties to prevent mixture sticking to hands. Place extra flour on a plate and press both sides of each patty into flour. Pat off excess flour and fry on low-medium heat for 3-5 minutes per side. Toast bread or buns over grill or in pan. Place on bun lettuce, burger patty, tomato, raw or cooked onion, and sauce such as tomato, banana, sweet chilli, vegan mayo. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy!
